About the hostel

Pandu College Girls’ Hostel was established on 30th December 2000 to meet the demands of the Girls Students of the college coming from distant places of the state. Initially the hostel had a single block having seat capacity for only 50 boarders. But due to the increasing demands from the students, another block of the hostel (named as the Women’s Hostel) was started and was completed in the year 2017. The hostel is situated within the college campus in a healthy and secured environment. It has easy access to Bus, Railway Station and the Airport. The Pandu College Girls’ Hostel is unique in the city so far as the rules, regulations and discipline is concerned.
Recently the first block of the hostel which was earlier called Girls´ Hostel was renamed as Mamoni Raisom Goswami Girls Hostel (MRGH) and the other block which was earlier known as Women´s Hostel was renamed as Chandraprabha Saikiani Girls Hostel (CSH).



Seat Capacity

Presently the hostel has accommodation for 98 boarders combining both the hostels. Mamoni Raisom Goswami Girls´ Hostel has seat capacity for 50 boarders and Chandraprabha Saikiani Girls´ Hostel has a seat capacity for 48 boarders. There are 50 well furnished rooms out of which 41 rooms are two seater, 3 rooms are three seater, 2 rooms having capacity for 5 boarders and 2 single seater rooms.



Admission

Admission to the Pandu College Gils’ Hostel is done in the beginning of every academic session (July-August) strictly on the basis of merit. The list of selected students is displayed in the notice board as well as in the college website. The hostel admission fees which are to be paid every year are as follows:
Dues to be paid on admission:
MAMANI RAISAM GOSWAMI GIRLS’ HOSTEL : Rs. 12000/- (Per Year)
CHANDRAPRABHA SAIKIANI WOMEN’S HOSTEL : Rs. 14000/- (Per Year)



Hostel Mess

Meal Timings
  1. The hostel mess is run by the members of the Mess Committee under the supervision of the Superintendent.
  2. Mess dues for every month are fixed on the basis of expenditure of the previous month and/or on discussing in a meeting of the mess committee which is usually held on the first day of every month.
  3. The mess dues are collected by the mess secretaries by issuing money receipt to the boarders.
  4. Daily marketing is done by the boarders with the help of cooks/helpers. The daily marketing is done as per the menu fixed in the mess committee meeting.
  5. The meals in the mess are planned by the students according to their choice budget. Students themselves through the Mess Committee members take up the responsibility to see the quality products are purchased.
  6. Food from the mess is not allowed to be taken to the rooms. Meals must be taken in the Dining Hall only and at the specified timings.
  7. Proper dress code should be maintained in the dining room. Action will be taken if it is not adhered to.



Facilities
Medical Facilities & Hygiene:
Doctor regularly visits the hostel on the second and fourth Sundays of every month for medical checkup of the boarders. Moreover doctors are available in the nearby area for consultation in case of illness. However guardian/parents are informed to supervise the consultation and admission to the hospital if required Other facilities: Moreover the hostel is covered under CCTV surveillance and 24 hour security guards to prevent any unwanted intervention from outsides.
Civic sense and Etiquette:
  1. Courtesy to all the staff in the hostel is expected from every hostel student and her visitors. All students are expected to speak with respect with each and every hostel staff.
  2. Parents/Guardians/Students are not allowed to argue with the college gatekeeper. In case of any problem, the warden may be contacted.
