About Library

The Pandu College Library is situated in a spacious area spanning 5500 sq. ft., accommodating separate reading rooms for both students and teachers. It also features dedicated sections for circulation, computers, and newspapers, providing a conducive environment for learning and research.

➢Pandu College Library houses an extensive collection of over 47,500 printed books, encompassing textbooks and reference materials for Arts, Science, and Commerce streams.

➢The library subscribes to 2 journals, 22 popular magazines, and 13 newspapers, enriching the academic and reading experience of its users.

➢To enhance its operations, the library is automated using the Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS) KOHA (version 21.05.13.000), ensuring efficient management of its resources.

➢As a member of the INFLIBNET centre, the library has access to a plethora of e-resources available under NLIST, enriching the research and learning experience of its users.

➢Users can easily search for books through the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), enhancing accessibility and usability of the library's collection.

➢The library employs the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC 21st edition) to classify its books, facilitating efficient organization and retrieval of materials.

➢User footfall is recorded using both a digital attendance system, through Smart Library cum Identity Cards and scanning QR codes, and a physical register entry system, ensuring accurate tracking of library usage.

➢The Kamrup-Kamakhya Study Corner is a special section of the library dedicated to preserving books related to Mother Goddess Kamakhya and Kamrup, offering a unique and culturally significant resource.

➢For security and safety, the library is equipped with 5 CCTV cameras for surveillance, ensuring a safe and secure environment for users and resources.

➢Each year, the library recognizes the Best Reader with an award. From this session, the recipient of this award will be granted the opportunity to select an online certificate course of their choice, with the course fee to be covered by the college library.

➢A Competitive Examination Corner is available in the library, providing resources and support for students preparing for competitive exams.
